2011 NCGE Map Gallery Contest

I created these maps for a different project in my Thematic Cartography class.  The project focused on Montana's tourist districts. I was assigned Custer Country which is in the southeastern part of Montana.  Each student had free rein for their assigned Tourist District.  I decided to show Federal Lands, National Forests, and major water streams.  I also included Interstate 90 and other several highways.

I created these maps for a project in a thematic cartography class at U of M.  I was assigned Iowa (obviously) which made the mapping more difficult because Iowa doesn't have a metro area compared to New York, California, and so on.  The data is from the 2000 Census of Population.  I am going to make another group of maps using the new Census data.
